Starting/Stopping or Transferring Service
To start/stop utility service or to transfer your account to a new address, call 541-746-1676. Please contact Rainbow at least one business day before you would like service to begin, end, or to be transferred to your new address.
When starting service, Rainbow Staff must speak to every person that will be listed on the account to verify they have authorized their name to be placed on the account.
When stopping service, only an authorized account holder may make the request.
There is a $15 account processing charge to start or switch service.
In accordance with federal law, Rainbow will help to fight identity theft by verifying your identity. We will ask for your name, address, date of birth, photo ID, and any other information that will allow us to confirm your identity. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
You may or may not be required to post a security deposit. If you send us a letter of credit from a previous utility account in your name, and it does not have any missed/late payments or disconnect notices issued to you, you may have the ability to have your deposit waived.
If a security deposit is required, you may obtain a co-signer, who must be a Rainbow residential customer and have had satisfactory credit for at least two years. Primary account holders and co-signers will be equally responsible for the billing.
